Special Project Manager (Contract)

      About The Job

      As a Special Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and ensuring that the requirements and milestones of one or more special projects have been met. You will also ensure that these projects are delivered in a manner in alignment with the Embodied Labs’ business and growth strategies. 

      Our ideal candidate has experience in project management, ideally as related to a local, state, and/or federal grant project management and delivery. The candidate should also have the ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to the successful completion of projects. 

      Your Key Responsibilities

      Strategy & Planning
      • Define the project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. 
      • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
      • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
      • Continually set and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
      • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using ClickUp.
      • Track project milestones and deliverables.
      • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
      • Define the project’s success criteria and disseminate the information to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
      • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
      • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

      Acquisition & Deployment
      • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
      • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
      • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
      • Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants, and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during the project cycle.

      Operational Management
      • Develop full-scale project plans in ClickUp, along with associated communications documents. 
      • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
      • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
      • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
      • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
      • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
      • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
      • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

      Required Qualifications

      • 3+ years of experience with project management
      • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as ClickUp

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Previous delivery of a project to a local, state, or federal government agency
      • PM Certification

      Job Compensation & Benefits

      • Compensation:  $40-$50/hour (up to 40 hours/week)
