Embodied Labs - Immersive Training Platform

I learned a great deal about how difficult it is to "keep up" with tasks that otherwise may feel very smooth and straight-forward for me.

The immersive experience helped me to effectively simulate what it would be like to be someone with hearing and vision loss as well as confusion with comprehension and communication.

These are important lessons for me to take with me moving forward into patient care, both for the compassion I hope to hold for others as well as the tools to better care for them.

I believe that the VR experience helped me not only understand disease processes better, but understand what a patient goes through — through our own eyes — helps me better therapeutically communicate as well as learn practically how to do that. All of those things I believe are going to enhance patient centered care — and that’s what we want to do as nurses!
